Dan,
Good afternoon and a quick update from the Syracuse University men’s soccer office. I hope that you have enjoyed a great start to 2013. The boys are certainly working hard with Coach Parker and our staff to prepare for an exciting Spring schedule that will include games against teams such as UCONN, Penn State, St. John’s and the Rochester Rhinos of the USL. I will certainly keep everyone updated as we move closer to competition and we would love to see you at a game this Spring.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Mike Koegel and Alex Halis to our SU soccer family. Mike and Alex have joined the team this Spring and I am looking forward to having the chance to integrate them into our program this semester. They are young, talented student-athletes who are very excited to be afforded the opportunity to represent Syracuse University and I know that you will join me in welcoming both Mike and Alex to Syracuse Soccer.
In other news I would like to thank all of our fans for helping set an attendance record at the SU Soccer Stadium in 2012. We have enjoyed tremendous support and loyalty from our SU fans who ensured that our home crowds / attendances were ranked in the National Top 20. On behalf of everyone associated with the team I would like to say a very big thank you… your support really does make a difference and the boys truly appreciatethe privilege of playing in front of such wonderful SU Soccer Stadium crowds.
I would also like to congratulate Jukka Masalin for being recognized by CollegeSoccerNews.com as one of the top assistant men's coaches of 2012. I am very blessed to be surrounded by a terrific staff who help our boys succeed both on and off the soccer field. I know that our student-athletes appreciate all the support and guidance that they receive from Jukka, Mike and our fantastic support staff. Everyone is looking forward to working together toembrace the new challenges ahead in 2013.
And finally I would like to personally thank Rob Irvine for becoming our newest member of Friends of SU Soccer. Thank you so much for your generosity and your support! I ask all of our supporters to join our current fundraising effort to further elevate our SU soccer program. This is a very big year for our program. Please find a way to take ownership of our program and I hope that you are with us as we look to build a championship caliber program here at Syracuse University. Your support really can (and will) make a difference in the future of our program and our student-athletes. I hope that you will be able to support our program through membership to Friends of SU Soccer We truly appreciate your continued support of the program and please keep cheering on the boys!
