Dan,

Good afternoon and a quick update from the Syracuse University men’s soccer office as we prepare for tonight's game against Binghamton University Coach Marco has an experienced and talented BU squad that will provide a stern test for our team this evening. Matches between Syracuse and Binghamton are always tightly contested affairs and I have no doubt that tonight’s contest will be no different as we make the short drive down I81. It should be a cracking game and I hope that some of our fans will be able to join us on the road this evening. There is nothing better than seeing our Orange support on the road and please travel safely!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our special SU fans, friends and family who came out to cheer on our team during our home opener on Friday night as we established a new attendance record for the SU Soccer Stadium!!! (Thank you… and what a way to start our 2012 campaign!) It was a terrific night and your vocal support really helped secure a 2-0 victory over the University of Albany.

I was very pleased with the way that the boys approached this game and we played some good soccer for long stretches of the match. The boys took a lot of confidence from this performance and we will be looking to continue our evolution as a young team over the coming weeks. Congratulations to Jordan Vale, Stefanos Stamoulacatos, Tony Asante, Noah Rhynhart, Ben Ramin and Alex Bono who each made their first appearance for Syracuse University on Friday night. Well done boys and please visit our SU Men's Soccer Facebook Page to view highlights and photos from this opening game.

Well that about does it for now as we complete our final preparations for tonight’s game. After classes have finished today we will meet up with the team for our pre-game meal and then jump on the bus for Binghamton. I look forward to chatting again soon and please remember that additional updates can be found at Inside the 18.

We truly appreciate your support of the program and please keep cheering on the boys!
