Dan,

Good afternoon and a quick update from the Syracuse University men’s soccer office. The boys are working hard and we are enjoying an excellent 2012 pre-season camp. The group returned to campus in good condition and we (the coaching staff) are very happy with the progress that the team has made during such a short period of time.

I would like to thank those fans who came out to watch yesterday’s Blue vs. Orange scrimmage and we witnessed some good soccer with the Blue team securing a 5-2 victory. Our fans can also keep right up to date with our pre-season camp through Inside the 18 I would like to thank Mike Morrison for the terrific work that he does with this daily SU soccer blog!

We are all looking forward to our game at Boston College on Monday morning and this will be a real indicator of how far we have come. I realize that the kick-off time (11:00 a.m.) may cause a few conflicts with work, but I do hope that some of our friends in Boston will be able to come out and watch the match. Coach Kelly has a very talented BC team that is currently ranked No. 14 in the country in the NSCAA /Continental Tire preseason rankings. It is a veteran squad that reached the final of the 2011 ACC Championship and earnedthe No. 4 national seed in the 2011 NCAA Tournament. It should be a fun game and exactly the type of test that we need at this early stage of the campaign.

I would like to thank those supporters of our soccer program who recently joined Friends of SU Soccer. I would like to personally thank Martha Stratton for joining our “Elite Orange” club. Thank you so much for your generosity and your support!

Well that about does it for now and we are getting ready to meet up with the boys again for our next training session. I look forward to chatting again soon and please remember that additional updates can be found at Inside the 18.

We truly appreciate your support of the program and please keep cheering on the boys!
